When owners Ben & Wendy Conway started researching mosquito and tick control on the South Shore, they were disappointed to find only harsh chemical options — toxic to humans, pets, and wildlife, and eventually polluting our local waterways. In 2012, they founded South Shore Mosquito & Tick Control to offer the area's first fully organic alternative. Today, over 1,500 families trust us to protect their yards the safe way.

Mosquito control costs typically range from $75 to $250 per application depending on yard size and treatment type. A full season program of 8 applications averages around $646 with our 15% prepay discount. We offer organic, chemical, and hybrid options at different price points — and you can pay per application or save by prepaying for the season.
Yes, mosquito yard spray is safe for dogs, kids, and all pets after the recommended dry time. For our organic cedar-based treatments, wait 60 minutes before returning to the yard. For chemical treatments, wait 2 hours. Our organic solution is also safe for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators — we never spray flowering plants directly.
Yes, professional mosquito spraying eliminates up to 98% of mosquitoes on your property. Our barrier spray treatment paralyzes and kills mosquitoes and ticks on contact, then continues working for up to 3 weeks. Regular treatments every 21 days maintain continuous protection throughout the season. If you're ever not satisfied between treatments, we'll come back and respray at no charge.
The best tick spray for yards is a professional barrier treatment applied to the perimeter, fence lines, woodlines, and shaded areas where ticks live. DIY sprays from hardware stores only last a few days. Our professional-grade organic and chemical options kill ticks on contact and provide weeks of residual protection — significantly reducing the risk of Lyme disease for your family and pets.
In Massachusetts, mosquito treatment should start in mid-April when temperatures consistently reach 50°F. The mosquito season runs April through October, with peak activity June through August. Starting early prevents the first generation from breeding on your property. For ticks, treatment should begin even earlier — as soon as the snow melts — since deer ticks can be active at temperatures just above freezing.
You should spray for mosquitoes every 3 weeks (21 days) for consistent protection. We recommend 8 applications per season from April to October. All of our solutions — organic and chemical alike — last about 3 weeks per application, which is exactly why we spray on that cycle. Some customers add 1–2 extra treatments in late season depending on fall weather conditions.
